The Warrior Factory Buffalo

Project Background

Having successfully launched their first location in Rochester, NY in 2017, and having solidified their branding standards, the The Warrior Factory began to plan their expansion.  These expansion plans included locations in Buffalo, NY, Syracuse, NY and Hamilton, ONT, to be launched between 2019 and 2020.  For their Buffalo location they connected with Flexlume to provide both their interior and exterior signage.

Key Challenges

Every sign package has its own particular idiosyncrasies and challenges.  While minor, this project did require attention to detail and diligence on a number of points:

  • The coloring of the individual signs had to be consistent not only with The Warrior Factory's brand guidelines but also each other, despite the use of a range of materials.

  • There were a number of complex and challenging bends required to match the size and font requirements of each of the channel letters on the main building sign.

  • The channel letters had to be powered "invisibly" despite being mounted on a flush panel with no available space for a raceway.
  • Internal signage and printed graphics had to represent the logo as elegantly as the external signage.

Solution Proposed

The solution to the external logo sign included a creative approach to producing channel letters and a logo cabinet that not only varied in overall size, but in depth.  This necessitated careful placement of the internal LEDs to ensure consistent lighting of each letter and panel.  This overall solution, while complex to produce and install, made it possible to represent a logo with many elements in a multi-layered sign, without looking like a collection of parts.  The package also included:

  • An illuminated 3D reception desk logo sign
  • A variety of internal wall graphics, banners and printed signs to cover everything from additional brand presentation to safety guidelines, wayfaring signs and more.

Outcome

The outcome was a seamless integration of a variety of sign types and banners, throughout the exterior and interior of their Transit Road location.  This signage not only helps present and preserve the company's well-developed brand, but also helps their customers to identify their facility amid a high traffic area with a high density of retail and other commercial property.

The Warrior Factory is the vision of owners Carl Fantauzzo & Bernard Birnbaum. Carl & Bernard’s mutual interest and passion in the sport of ninja warrior, along with the desire to create a local community for kids and adults started in 2016. In 2017, the Warrior Factory opened in Rochester and the public’s response was amazing. Since then, the brand has expanded and the duo partnered with Buffalo native Darren Wojcicki to open its second location in Williamsville, NY. With the continued support of Western NY, the three have high hopes for the brand’s continued success.
