Pub Signage for Caputi's Sheridan Pub | Flexlume

Project Background

Spring 2021 saw the transition of Caputi's Sheridan Pub to the next generation of the family, while simultaneously emerging from the pandemic.  The question was, how to make what was old feel new again and welcome both new and old customers looking for a great meal and/or a night out. The answer combined the addition of a new pizzeria inside with bright new pub signage outside, promoting both the restaurant's history and its new offerings along Sheridan Drive.

Key Challenges

This pub signage project needed to preserve the strongest elements of Caputi's existing brand while refreshing the restaurant's image and drawing attention to its new offerings.

• Brand Preservation: The existing colors and logo needed to remain recognizable while being refreshed and enhanced.

• Bold, yet Approachable Design: The owners wanted signage that felt unique, visually appealing, and inviting without becoming overdone.

• Existing Awning Conditions: The building's awning showed signs of wear but still served both aesthetic and functional purposes.

• Complex Installation: The angled building facade required a secure custom mounting solution for the new signage.

Solution Proposed

The solution proposed combined several different components which each deployed particular creativity to boldly present the company's brand and highlighted product offerings to visitors and passersby on Sheridan Drive.  The specific solution included:

• A 16' x 8' custom cabinet with push-through acrylic lettering internally lit, custom paint and vinyl matched to the company's
  brand standards, mounted vertically using a custom angle iron frame.
• Product offerings presented with a "neon look" created with custom embedded LED letters which produce a bold and unique glow when lit.
• A pole-mounted Cirrus Digital Message Center to promote special offers and new menu items to travelers along Sheridan Drive

Outcome

The combination of custom pub signage, LED lighting, and digital messaging helped Caputi's stand out not only within their plaza on Sheridan Drive, but to everyone that passes by. The finished signage refreshed the restaurant's exterior while preserving the familiar identity longtime customers already knew.
